Road To Hana – Part 1

It's all about the journey - not the destination

And so we leave the Grand Wailea to begin the journey on the ‘Road to Hana’ to see Dane’s former ranch property there and enjoy the ocean from our Hana (on the beach) bungalow.

First stop is Costco for more wine, cheese and supplies before hitting the world’s windiest road.  And in the parking lot of Costco is a herd of chickens, that greet us. We load our SUV and begin the trek.

As we travel the the long and winding road to Hana our  first stop on the way was the Painted Eucalyptus forest. And it was amazing, how the bark grows with these rainbow colors in it.
